Eyes and Ears – December edition

Welcome to the December edition of Eyes and Ears! This session will be somewhat “christmassy” although we will try to explore another meaning of that term.

Talking about the Christmas let’s start with a classic. “Angels we’ve heard on high” – Really? Yes, but this one is sung by Six Pence None the Richer, and it sounds lovely!

And now, something that is all about Christmas, and is in fact one of the oldest Christmas Carol sung in Europe (at least since the 11th century): The translation of the title is “Today the Christ is born”:

Let’s go back to electronick tracks now. I would like to introduce you to this great artist you may have heard about, Introspecter. Introspecter practices pure and elegant ambient music, and it is just what you need on cold nights.

Another fresh and cold track comes as a remix of “Deep” by Melorman, here  remixed by NorthCape, a British composer I’ll be talking about more and more in 2015 I think,.

Now that you’re all cold and drowning in snow, let’s warm up a bit with the latest mix of Thievery Corporation, this one from their live show at the Burning Man festival in 2014:

That’s all for this month. Have a great end of the year’s celebrations and see you soon here in 2015!
